Hebrews 12:2 – “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
On a recent trip to the United Kingdom, we took trains to and from London to Norwich and Wales. I also took the train to Gatwick Airport to fly to Scotland for a ministry appointment. We utilized the London underground for most of our travel across the city. On each of the trains we heard the following announcement at each station. “If you see something that doesn’t feel right, speak to staff or text the British Transport Police, we will sort it. See it, Say it, Sorted.” This is the British safety campaign to help keep the travelers safe on the trains.
“See it, Say it, Sorted.” Faith has vision – See it. Faith has a voice – Say it. Faith gives us victory – Sorted. The Apostle John wrote in I John 5:4, “For whatever is born of God overcome the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.” We are a victorious people. We are more than conquerors through the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are not a defeated people. We are a victorious people. We overcome the enemy through our faith. Jesus said in Mark 11:22-24, “’Have faith in God. ‘For assuredly, I say to you, ‘whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.’ ‘Therefore I say to you, ‘whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.’” Phillip Yancey defines faith as “believing in advance something that will only seem logical when seen in reverse.”
We are a people of faith. We can be a people of great faith. Jude 20 says, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” Victory awaits those who will believe. William MacDonald writes, “Victory in the Christian life is not the absence of conflict but the presence and protection of God in the midst of conflict.” See it, say it, sorted.
