A Door Standing Open in Heaven

--> Revelation 4:1, “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”             Revelation 2-3, the Apostle John records the words of the resurrected Christ to seven churches.   He speaks personally to each of these seven churches.   In Revelation 4:1 something changes. The scene changes from earth to heaven. The Apostle John is called up to the throne of God.   G. R. Beasley writes, “It is evident that a new beginning in the book of Revelation is made at 4:1. A door in heaven is opened to enable the prophet to enter its portals and see what transpires in heaven, that he may understand what takes place on earth.” [i]             God is in charge of the ages.   Revelation 1:8 identifies Jesus as, “the Alpha and the Omega,  the  Beginning and  the  End.” Hebrews 13:8 reveals, “Jesus C

Preparing for the Last Days

II Timothy 2:1 – “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.”             We are living in what the Bible defines as the last days .   Can we know with certainty we are living in the last days?   We know from study of the Scriptures that no one knows the day or hour of the second coming.   Jesus told us in Matthew 24, and Luke 21, there would be specific signs to let us know we are living in the last days.             Luke 21:25-28 says, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”             The A

Brought Near by the Blood of Jesus

Ephesians 2:13 – “ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” Dr. Author T. Pierson says, “Ephesians is Paul’s third heaven Epistle.” [i] J. Vernon McGee writes, “Many expositors consider this the highest peak of scriptural truth, the very apex of Bible revelation.” [ii] In Ephesians the Apostle Paul writes about our standing with Christ.   In Ephesians 2:1-3, the Apostle defines our lost condition, “And you  He made alive,  who were dead in trespasses and sins,    in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,    among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.” Without the Lord Jesus Christ we are lost and without hope.   Romans 3:10-12 describes our
