The Last Days - Fact or Fiction

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 – “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive  and  remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive  and  remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” One of the most neglected teachings in the New Testament Church today is the teaching of Eschatology.   Eschatology is the study of Last Things.   We are living in the last days.   Dr. Jack Hayfor

Do Not Give Up

II Corinthians 4:1-5 – “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” In II Corinthians 4:1-10 the Apostle Paul gives us a strategy to overcome the assaults of the enemy. We have an enemy who has some effective tools in his arsenal to use against us.   A few of these tools are fear, oppression, discouragement, and condemnation.   The enemy will attack our minds, our wills, and our physical bodies, but we can overcome his attacks by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Re

Chart Your Course

Proverbs 29:18 – “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”             The Prophet Habakkuk writes to encourage us to “write the vision and make it plain” (Habakkuk 2:2). This is a time to allow the Lord to clarify our vision.   The word vision in Proverbs 29:18 can be translated as revelation.   The Passion Translation says, “When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray.” In Acts 26:19 the Apostle Paul told King Agrippa “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.”   Paul’s calling was to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Gentile nations of the earth.   He was faithful to carry out God’s plan for his life and ministry.   We are a visionary people.   Without prophetic revelation we will perish. We must allow the Holy Spirit to chart our course for the future.   God has a wonderful future for His people.   Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, though
