We Made Our Prayer To Our God

Nehemiah 4:9 – “ Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night.” The book of Nehemiah has a powerful message of revival to our generation. It records one of the most effective revivals and rebuilding projects in the history of Israel.   Nehemiah was tasked with rebuilding the broken and burned walls of Jerusalem that had been destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, and his Babylonian armies.   These walls had laid in ruin for over seventy years.   After seventy years of exile, Israel returned to their homeland to find devastation and ruin.   The walls of protection and safety had been torn down because of sin and neglect.   The city was exposed and unprotected from an enemy attack.   Nehemiah’s assignment was to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and bring spiritual revival to the people of Jerusalem.   The purpose of the walls was to protect the people of God from enemy attacks. Dedicated Praise

Hebrews 13:15 - “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Sacrificial praise is costly praise. In Jeremiah 33:11, the Prophet Jeremiah speaks about a returning of those in captivity “who will bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord.” Praise creates a pathway for God to intervene in our circumstances.  Psalms 22:3-5 says, “But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted, and You delivered them. They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.” Dr. Dick Eastman writes about this passage in his book, Heights of Delight, “The thought here is that God literally dwells, reveals Himself, where His people praise Him. He inhabits that very place. I am told a Japanese translation of this verse reads, ‘When God’s people praise Him, He brings a big chair and sits there.’ Our praises become God’s throne
