It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold- though your faith is more precious than mere gold.” Kintsugi is an age-old custom in Japanese Art of restoring broken things. Instead of throwing away a broken object, the cracks are filled with gold, making the object more valuable. The breakage serves as an opportunity for repair, not of loss. Kintsugi illustrates the basis of transformation for the Believer. In life, we all suffer brokenness in one form or fashion. It is impossible to escape it. There is seldom an answer to the question of why it happens. Too much searching for why leads to bitterness of heart. Releasing why begins the process of freedom. II Corinthians 10:4 – “For the weapons of our warfare  are  not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.”             When we seek to advance the kingdom, we will encounter opposition.   The Apostle Paul wrote these words in 1 Timothy 6:12 to a young son in the faith concerning this opposition, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” There are powerful weapons available to the believer.   We have the weapon of prayer.   Isaiah 58:9 says, “Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I  am. ’ If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness.” One of the most effective weapons the believer has at his/her disposal is found in James 4:7, “Therefore submit to God. 1 John 4:18 - “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear”      Perfect love is sincere, unselfish love that is able to have its proper influence on the soul, casting out fear and leading us into faith in God. The capacity for love is woven into the DNA, creating us in God’s image. God is love. As love grows, hope is conceived, casting out fear and producing joy. Love seeks to elevate, uplift, and inspire, considering its object as good, excellent, and worthy to be loved.       Yielding to love establishes us in peace, making this a matter of understanding, a matter of mind and choice.  A lesser mind yielded to pride resists any yielding to spiritual discipline.
