One Meeting Changes Everything

John 14:16-17 – “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”             All of us have things we are asking God to change in our lives;   a lost loved-one who needs salvation, a physical need or disease needing healing, a financial issue, or some other pressing need.   There are many things we face that we have no ability to change.   The good news is there is someone who has the ability to bring the needed change.             Life is filled with changes.   We need God’s guidance and direction to navigate these changes. Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”   Jesus promises the Holy Spirit will “guide you into all truth” (John 15:13).

The Benefits of our Spiritual Life

Psalms 103:2 – “Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits.”             In a recent interview with a good friend I was asked, “What are the benefits of having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ?”   My first thought was that we have peace with God.   Philippians 4:7 defines this peace, “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”   The New Living Translation says this peace “exceeds anything we can understand.”             When we are in a relationship with the Lord, we find our true purpose in life.   Jeremiah 29:11 says, “’For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” (NIV).   As we walk with the Lord, He directs our path.   Psalms 23:3 says, “He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”               When we walk with Christ, we experience many blessings.   Ephesians 1:3

Everything Changes

II Peter 1:2-4 – “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”             What happens when we experience salvation?   We are born again.   Everything in our life changes.   John 5:24 says, “we pass from death to life.”   The Apostle Paul writes in Colossians 1:13, “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”   II Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone  is  in Christ,  he is  a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”             Things change when we meet the Savior.   Our lives are no longer
