An Enemy Occupying the Place of Covenant

Judges 4:1-3 – “When Ehud was dead, the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his army  was  Sisera, who dwelt in Harosheth Hagoyim. And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord; for Jabin had nine hundred chariots of iron, and for twenty years he had harshly oppressed the children of Israel."             The children of Israel had a real problem.   Their evil and sin resulted in servitude and bondage to a Canaanite King, Jabin.   His commander was Sisera.   He commanded a powerful army that possessed nine hundred chariots of iron.   His fortress was in Harosheth Hagoyim, which was located at the base of Mount Carmel outside of modern day Haifa.   Mount Carmel overlooks the Valley of Jezreel, where the Battle of Armageddon will take place in the future.   This is the land that God promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.   This promise is reaffirmed

Christ Our Passover Lamb

There are seven major feasts that God established with Israel in the Old Testament. The first of these seven feasts was Passover. Passover always comes in the first month of the year on the Hebrew religious calendar. This month is known as Abib in the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, and later came to be known as Nissan after the Babylonian captivity.   Although there are a total of seven feasts (the divine number for perfection or completeness in the Bible), God divided the seven festivals into three major festival seasons. Every male was to present themselves before the Lord three times in a year in each festival group.  The Jewish male would travel to Jerusalem for Passover in the spring, Pentecost at the end of spring, and the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall.  The fall festival season consisted of Rosh Ha Shana (Trumpets), The Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles.  The first group is Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits.  These three festivals would be

Socialize or Evangelize

2 Timothy 3:1 – “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.”             We are living in perilous times.   The Apostle Paul prophetically wrote the headlines that dominate our news today.   The Church must make a choice.   Are we going to be a people who have a form of godliness and deny its power, or are we going to be a supernatural people?   Our mandate is clearly defined in the scriptures.   Jesus commanded us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel.   In Mark 16:15–18, “And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.’” The problem is that the churc

Don't Forget to Remember

Always remember that God leads us by peace. We need to be sensitive to move forward according to the witness of peace, whether it is from what God says or from what God does not say. Our human tendency is to live by our feelings.   The enemy takes advantage of this and wants to get our emotions stirred up. The enemy would like to suppress, repress, depress, and oppress us.   He uses pressure to press us. Pressure can come in many ways: stress, illness, rejection, regret, guilt, fear, and trauma to name a few. The enemy often comes with disappointment as his first attempt at our emotions. The moment we encounter disappointment is the time to deal with that emotion. His scheme continues with discouragement, resentment, self-pity, anger, bitterness, criticalness, rejection and error. In all of this, the enemy is actually accusing God of not performing His word.   His ultimate goal and purpose of any attack is to get us to believe that God is not good. He knows that as long as we are
