The Fourth Month - The Month to See

In 1 Chronicles 12:32 we learn that the Sons of Issachar had an understanding of the times and knew what Israel ought to do.  Like the sons of Issachar, we need to have an understanding of the times.  We are in a time of uncertainty and fear, therefore we need prophetic insight into what God has for us and desires to do in our lives.
For some time I have been praying and asking God to give me insight into how He moves in time. The Sons of Issachar were masters of the calendar.  In Exodus 12:2 the Lord establishes the Hebrew calendar. “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.” The Hebrew calendar begins at Passover.  This is the calendar that God ordained and introduced in the Bible.  To better understand how God moves in times you can study the Hebrew calendar and the patterns that have been established in the Word of God.  Our Gregorian calendar is on a different time cycle than the Word of God.
Each of the twelve months on the Hebrew calendar corresponds to one of the twelve tribes of Israel.  The current month on the Hebrew calendar is the month Tammuz that comes during our June and July.  It begins a three-month period including the month of Av and Ellul, which are the summer months.
When you study the history of Israel you realize that the Ninth of Av is one of the saddest days in the history of Israel. Dr. Robert Heidler writes, “If you study the history of the Jews you discover something surprising. The Jews have experienced many calamities over the years, and most of those calamities have occurred on the same day of the year, the ninth of Av.  It was on this date that both temples were destroyed, and the final destruction of Jerusalem took place in 135.”
Tammuz is the name of a Babylonian god. The month got its name during the Babylonian captivity. The Bible refers to this month as the fourth month, beginning at Nissan (Passover). The Bible forbids the children of Israel to worship Tammuz. Ezekiel 8:14 –says, “so He brought me to the door of the north gate of the LORD’s house; and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.” What Ezekiel saw were the defilement and the coming destruction of the Temple.
Several sources I studied called Tammuz the saddest month on the Jewish calendar.  Tradition tells us that it was during Tammuz that Moses sent the twelve spies into the Promised Land of Canaan in the thirteenth chapter of Numbers.  It was forty days later that the ten spies brought an evil report and the children of Israel refused to enter into the Promised Land.  Other sources believe that Moses broke the tablets of stone during Tammuz when he came off the mountain and saw Israel involved in idolatry.
When you study the life of Reuben you learn that he was the first-born son of Jacob and Leah. The name Reuben comes from a Hebrew word meaning, “To see, to look at, to perceive.” Reuben messed up and committed incest with Bilhah, his father’s concubine. Genesis 35:22 reads,  “And it happened, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine; and Israel heard about it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:”
This is a month to see.  This is a month to ask God to allow you to see things clearly.  We must ask God to help us find our path for this coming season.  We must find His direction for the coming season in our lives.  When you find your path you will find your provision.  God positioned Elijah by a brook to provide for him supernaturally during a time of drought and famine.  He then dried up the brook and took Elijah down a different path.  God’s place of assignment will be His place of provision.  This is a season to find your path.
This is also a month to watch for the traps and ensnarement the enemy will place on your path. Don’t allow the enemy to seduce you.  We must be careful that we do not allow the devil to seduce us during this season.  Be careful that you do not come into agreement with him by speaking the evil report.
This is also a month for things to turn in your favor.  Recently in prayer, the Lord spoke to me and said, “This is a month when things will begin to turn in your future.”  Let me encourage you to be careful to hear His voice and listen carefully for His instructions in this season of time.  Things are going to turn in your favor.
We avoid the traps of the enemy and recognize the doors that God is opening through our times of worship and prayer.  Make your worship and prayer times a priority during this season and take time to listen for the Lord’s instructions.

Rebuilding the Broken Altar of Prayer

In Matthew 21: 12-13 , “ Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” Jesus made this declaration, “My house shall be called a house of prayer!”  I believe that God is calling us back to the altar of prayer.  For several weeks the Lord has dealt with me about rebuilding the broken altar of prayer in our personal and corporate lives.  If we are going to see spiritual breakthrough in our churches and communities then we must rebuild and return to the altar of prayer. Wayman Rogers writes, “The ministry of prayer is the most important of all ministries in the church.  Prayer creates the atmosphere and binds the powers of darkness so the gospel of Jesus can go forward and the church can prosper.  This is the area that

The Shout of a King is Among Them

Numbers 23:21 - “He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The Lord his God  is  with him, And the shout of a King  is  among them.” In this passage of Scripture, the king of Moab had hired the prophet Balaam to speak a curse over the children of Israel.   He saw Israel as a threat to his kingdom.   Numbers 22:2-3 – “Now Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. And Moab was exceedingly afraid of the people because they were many, and Moab was sick with dread because of the children of Israel.” When the enemy sees the people of God rising up in faith, he becomes very concerned and moves to keep us from fulfilling our assignment.   We learn in Numbers, Balaam could only speak what the Lord gave him to speak.   Instead of a curse he speaks a blessing. The enemy seeks our destruction, but God!   Listen to the conversation between God and Satan in Job 1:8-10, “Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you conside

I Hear the Sound of Abundance of Rain

I Hear the Sound of Abundance of Rain 1 Kings 18:41-46 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.”  42  So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees,  43  and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” 44  Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’” 45  Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel.  46  Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.        One of the most fasci
