The Supernatural Miracle Working Savior

 I John 3:8 – “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

            Jesus Christ is the supernatural miracle working Savior. He specializes in the miraculous. Most scholars agree that Jesus worked 37 miracles across Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Some would say there were 38 miracles counting the restoration of Malchus’ ear in Luke 22:51. These are the recorded miracles in the Scriptures. We know there are more because John wrote in John 21:25, “and there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.”


            Jesus healed every sickness and disease. He opened blinded eyes, rebuked fevers, and raised the dead to life again. In John 5:2-8 He healed the lame man at the pool of Bethesda. Listen to His words to this man in John 5:8-9, Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.”


            In Mark 1:29-31 Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law. Verse 29-31 reads, “Now as soon as they had come out of the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once. So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them.”


            In Mark 1:40-42 He encounters a leper. Verse 40 says, “Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him “If you are willing, You can make me clean.” The word imploring used in this verse means “to beg earnestly, urgently, and desperately with deep emotion.” This man was desperate for cleansing. He asked the question that many of us are asking today, Are you willing to heal me? The answer is the same today as it was in this passage. Mark 1:41 says, “Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” What happened? Immediately his leprosy left him and he was cleansed. 


            Our Supernatural Savior still works miracles. He has not changed. He is well able to meet our needs, physically, mentally, and spiritually. He is the miracle working Savior.

Rebuilding the Broken Altar of Prayer

In Matthew 21: 12-13 , “ Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” Jesus made this declaration, “My house shall be called a house of prayer!”  I believe that God is calling us back to the altar of prayer.  For several weeks the Lord has dealt with me about rebuilding the broken altar of prayer in our personal and corporate lives.  If we are going to see spiritual breakthrough in our churches and communities then we must rebuild and return to the altar of prayer. The Tent Peg of Jael

Judges 4:21-22 – “Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went down into the ground; for he was fast asleep and weary.
