Who is this King of Glory? He is the Soon Coming King

Psalms 24:8-10 – “Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty,  The Lord mighty in battle.   Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory?  The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah”             The Twenty-fourth Psalm speaks of the King of Glory and His Kingdom. This King is identified as “the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.” He is not just a king among other kings, but He is “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” (Revelation 19:16). He has no limitations. He has unlimited authority. Matthew 28:18 says, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”                             Who is t...

Who is this King of Glory? He is the Lord Strong and Mighty

Psalms 24:7-10 - “Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.   Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah” The Psalmist asks the question, “Who is this King of Glory?” He is the Lord strong and mighty. Zechariah 3:17 from the New Living Translation says, “ For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” He is the Lord who is mighty to save. He is a mighty Savior. Who is this King of Glory? He is a saving King. Psalms 2:6 says, “ Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.” There is...

A Declaration of Ownership

Psalm 24:1-2 – “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters.”               Psalm 24 is the third part of a trilogy with Psalm 22 and 23. David opens Psalm 22 prophetically with the words Jesus would say on the cross, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?” Psalm 23 reveals our Lord as the Great Shepherd who cares for His sheep. Psalm 24 reveals the Lord as the King of Glory.  Psalm 24 begins with a declaration of ownership. The Psalmist identifies the Lord as the Creator. Psalm 24:2 says, “He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters. Psalm 89:11 says, “The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all its fullness, You have founded them.”  The beginning of cr...

The Benevolent King

Psalm 24:3-5 – “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation.”             Who is this King of Glory? He is the Benevolent King. One thing we must never forget about our Lord is He is good. Nahum 1:7 says, “The Lord  is  good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.”    Dr. David Jeremiah writes, “When I say God is good, I’m talking about His perfection and His excellence. But the more I studied this word in the Bible, the more one central concept seemed to jump out and capture my mind. It seems to me that God’s goodness conveys His generosity. God’s quality of goodness means far more than His generosity, but it certainly includes His ...

The Sovereign King

Psalm 24:1-10 – “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.   For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place?   He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.   He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face. Selah Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.
