America Shall Be Saved

Jude 20 – 21 - “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”             Someone has said, “If you are swept off your feet, it’s time to get on your knees.” The Word of God backs this claim. Throughout the pages of Scriptures there is evidence that prayer can dramatically change situations, people, and sometimes even the course of nature.  We need change in our city, state, and nation.               I do not believe it is too late for our nation. My prayer declaration is “America shall be saved.” The change will come when we rebuild the broken altars and spend time crying out to God in prayer. James 5:16b says, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” J. Sidlow Baxter writes, ...

True Characteristics of a Successful Church

Matthew 16:18 – “ And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” We have entered into a time of divine reset.  God has pushed the reset button. We continually hear people using the words, “A new normal.” Perhaps Romans 8:22-23 describes the times we are currently experiencing. “   For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.”  Many are wondering, what will our future look like?  There are many businesses that will not survive the Covid-19 lockdowns and economic downturn.  People’s jobs and livelihood have been threatened and some are very fearful of the future.  I want to encourage you. As...

First Things First - Five Things God is Requiring of His People in 2012

Five things that God is requiring of His people in 2012       Every believer should be defined by these five characteristics. Why five? Because five is the Biblical number that represents grace. These five actions will define our mission for 2009 and beyond. Everything that we do will be defined and measured by these five actions: 1. Worship – Psalms 95:6 – “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. Verse 7 – “For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.” A. Worship will change the atmosphere. True worship will create an opening in the heavens. B. We must learn to ascend in worship so that we may descend in warfare. 2. Warfare – I Timothy 1:18 – “This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare.” A. Warfare will involve intercession. We must be a people who he...

Change is not a Bad Word

I have been praying and thinking about the condition of the church today. We have produced a sub-culture within the culture. God never intended for the church to become a sub-culture within the culture, but we have been called to challenge and impact the culture. We have our own language, our own shops, our own television and radio stations. I don't believe that these things are bad or necessarily wrong, but I believe it is possible to isolate yourself from the culture at large. Most of our friends are our fellow Christians or churchgoers. We have Christian events, and Christian cruises, and most of us will avoid sinners at all cost. This is very different than the Church in the New Testament. Jesus went home with sinners. He was called a "friend of sinners," and a " winebibber ." I believe we have lost sight of the Great Commission. In Matthew 28: 18-20 - "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth....
