I Still Believe in Divine Healing

  I Peter 2:24 – “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.”              We believe that divine healing was provided in the atonement. Isaiah 53:4-5 says, “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” We serve a healing Jesus. When He was beaten by the Roman soldiers it was for our healing. Better Promises

  Hebrews 8:6 – “But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.”              We learn in our study of Hebrews that we have a better covenant which was established on better promises. Hebrews 7:22 says, “By so much more Jesus has become the surety of a better covenant.” The New Covenant is superior to the Old Covenant. Jesus is the mediator of better covenant which was established on better promises.             2 Peter 1:4 calls these promises, “exceedingly great and precious promises.” We can trust God to keep His promises because they are sealed by the highest authority, His Word. Jeremiah 1:12 from the NIV says, “The Lord said to me, You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that word is fulfilled.”          ...
