  John 8:36  – “ Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” God longs to bring you into a new freedom. Jesus died so you could live in freedom.    The blood of Jesus purchased your freedom from the bondage and slavery of sin.    Sin enslaves, sin dominates, and sin destroys.    When Jesus went to the cross He redeemed us with His own blood from the slavery of sin.    Colossians 1:13-14 says, “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,” In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”  There is power in the blood of Jesus to bring freedom.   John 4:13-14 – “Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”              Some years ago, I was involved in a class where the instructor was teaching on holiness, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the manifestation gifts of the Holy Spirit in I Corinthians 12:4-11. The instructor was more concerned with counterfeits than the real thing.              There were young students in the class who were genuinely hungry to experience the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.   Acts 2:1-4 – “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.   And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.   Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.   And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”             God gave birth to the New Testament Church on the Day of Pentecost. He poured out His power. The first Pentecost is recorded in Exodus 19. God met with the children of Israel on Mount Sinai and He gave them the Torah. When He descended, He put on a demonstration of His mighty power.   Acts 2:17-18 – “‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,  That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. Pentecost is promised in both the Old and New Testaments. In Luke 24:49 Jesus shared this promise, “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”  John the Baptist prophesied of this mighty outpouring in Matthew 3:11, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” The following Old Testament Scriptures promised the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2: ·  ...

I am not sure about how you feel, but I am believing for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit like the early New Testament church experienced beginning on the day of Pentecost. What is meant by the term, “back to Pentecost?” It is a prayer for God’s intervention, bringing transformation. I have heard it said many times, “we cannot finish in the flesh what God began in the Spirit.”  We cannot accomplish our assignment without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
