Colossians 1:15-17 – “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.”
We are in a season of intense spiritual warfare. There are many people who are endeavoring to serve the Lord that have been under some type of an assault by the enemy. Bishop Tom Hamaan defines this as “an assault against your assignment.” The enemy always opposes our assignment. He attacks our identity. He wants to prevent us from knowing who we are in Christ. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
He uses fear and intimidation against us. I Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
We have an enemy who seeks to take advantage of us. He accuses and lies. Revelation 12:10 identifies him as the accuser of the brethren. But the good news is “greater is He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (I John 4:4).
How do we overcome the evil one? Through the supernatural power of God. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Our testimony is the Word of God. Colossians 2:15 says, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
We serve a supernatural Savior. Frank Damazio defines supernatural as “something that exists outside of the natural realm and above and beyond the natural realm. The supernatural is God’s divine nature and power bringing heaven to invade earth.” (1) The supernatural Savior is Jesus. In John 14:6 the Apostle John quotes him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
He is our savior. In Luke 2:11 the angels announced His birth. “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” He is our supernatural Savior.
