Better Promises

Hebrews 8:6 – “But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.”              We learn in our study of Hebrews that we have a better covenant which was established on better promises. Hebrews 7:22 says, “By so much more Jesus has become the surety of a better covenant.” The New Covenant is superior to the Old Covenant. Jesus is the mediator of better covenant which was established on better promises.             2 Peter 1:4 calls these promises, “exceedingly great and precious promises.” We can trust God to keep His promises because they are sealed by the highest authority, His Word. Jeremiah 1:12 from the NIV says, “The Lord said to me, You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that word is fulfilled.”          ...

Blessed Beyond Measure

Hebrews 6:14 – “saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”                   In a recent time of prayer, the Lord instructed me to declare the word better over every part of my life. I have been decreeing and declaring better over my family, my finances, my ministry, and every part of my life. My prayer for you today is better.             God has the best for us. He longs to bless us. The follow Scriptures speak of God’s desire to bless us:      Psalms 89:1 – “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.”      Isaiah 44:3 – “For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;”       Psalms 34:...

Better

Psalms 84:10 – “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.  I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”      In a recent time of prayer, the Lord gave me permission to speak the word better over my life, family, finances, and ministry. What is God saying? He is saying, “in the midst of chaotic times and shaking I have better for my children.” We do not have to live in fear, but we can pray in faith and expect to experience better things.                   Dictionary.com defines the word better as follows: 1.     “to increase the good qualities of; make better; improve: 2.     to improve upon; surpass; exceed:” The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines better as “to make more tolerable or acceptable, to make more complete or perfect, and to surpass in excellence.”   ...

A Warning of Chaotic Times

Hebrews 12:2 – “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”             God is omniscient, which means He is all knowing. The American Heritage Dictionary defines omniscient as “having total knowledge; knowing everything.” Nothing catches Him off guard. The Apostle John identifies Jesus as the “ruler over the kings of the earth” in Revelation 1:5.             Revelation 1:8 says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”  If we will take time to listen to His voice, He will warn us of things to come. We do not know what the future holds, but we know the One who holds the future.       ...

Navigating Chaotic Times

We are living in chaotic times. These are days of great danger. Jesus referred to our day in Luke 21:25-26, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;  26  men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” These are signs of the last days. The Apostle Paul prophesied in 2 Timothy 3:1, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.” Perilous means harsh, savage, difficult, dangerous, painful, fierce, grievous, hard to deal with. Bishop Tim Hill writes, “The word describes a society that is barren of virtue but abounding with vices.” [1] The American Heritage Dictionary defines chaos as “a condition or place of great disorder or confusion.” [2]        ...

The Spirit Empowered Church

Acts 4:31 – “And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”             In Luke 24:49, Jesus instructed His disciples, “to tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” The New International Version says, “stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” In Luke 24:47-48 He reveals the Great Commission, “and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things.”             In Acts 1:8 Jesus says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The Holy Spirit empowers us to do ...

It God Loud

Acts 2:1-13 – When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.   And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those ...
