The Miracle Worker

Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

        We serve an unchanging God.  The Prophet Malachi wrote these inspired words in Malachi 3:6,  “For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”  When everything around us is changing at an accelerated pace the Lord we love and serve does not change.

        The news today is filled with rapid changes.  The rise and fall of regimes, economic and political changes.  The economy is good and then it is bad, but the God we serve never changes, and He never fails.  Man may fail you.  But God will never fail you.

      Hebrews 13:8 offers these encouraging words, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”  We serve an unchanging God.  His love, His mercy, and His purpose have never changed.  The Lord Jesus Christ came to this earth for a purpose.  That purpose is found throughout the pages of the New Testament.  Here are a few of the Scriptures that define His purpose and mission:
  • Matthew 18:11 – “For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.”
  • Luke 9:56 – “For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.”
  • Luke 19:10 – “For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
  • Luke 4:18-19 – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
  • Acts 10:38 – “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

         Throughout the four Gospels and in the early pages of the New Testament Jesus performed many miracles: He healed the sick; restored the broken; and redeemed the lost from destruction. He is the Miracle Worker and He longs to bring you into an encounter with His miraculous power today.
            
         God uses supernatural signs and wonders to reveal His love and point you to salvation.  When miracles take place, it is to manifest God’s glory.  God always confirms His word with great power.  He loves to show His handiwork on your behalf.

      Do you need His miraculous intervention today?  Do you need freedom from bondage in your life?  Are you troubled by a besetting sin?  Jesus Christ is still the miracle worker, but I must caution you today; do not seek for miracles, but seek the One who works miracles.  Many want His benefits and seek only for blessings, but we must desire the One who blesses.  When you find the blesser, you will have His blessings.


       He loves you today more than you realize, and He stands ready to meet your every need.  All you have to do is to call out His name.

Judges 4:21-22 – “Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went down into the ground; for he was fast asleep and weary. Rebuilding the Broken Altar of Prayer

In Matthew 21: 12-13 , “ Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” Jesus made this declaration, “My house shall be called a house of prayer!”  I believe that God is calling us back to the altar of prayer.  For several weeks the Lord has dealt with me about rebuilding the broken altar of prayer in our personal and corporate lives.  If we are going to see spiritual breakthrough in our churches and communities then we must rebuild and return to the altar of prayer.
