Malachi 3:6 – “For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”
We serve a God who does not change. When everything around us is changing, He does not change. James the half-brother of Jesus writes in James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” Note the words, “with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” The New Living Translation says, “He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”
The governments of men rise and fall. The economies of the world experience increases and decreases, but the God we serve never changes. People may fail you, but God will never fail you. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” He is an unchanging God.
His love, His mercy, and His purpose have never changed. He came to this earth for a purpose. He is a supernatural Savior. Titus 3:5 says, “He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy, He washed away our sins, give us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.”
His purpose in coming this fallen planet was “to destroy the works of the devil” (I John 3:8). Throughout the pages of the four Gospels Jesus performed many supernatural miracles:
• He healed the sick
• He opened blinded eyes
• He cleansed the leper
• He made the lame to walk again
• He restored the broken
• He raised the dead back to life again
• He redeemed the lost from destruction.
Miracles are defined in the Bible as signs and wonders. Mark 16:20 says, “And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.” Jesus Christ is a supernatural Savior. He is still the miracle worker, and He can turn every situation around for His glory.
