John 8:36 –
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you
shall be free indeed.”
God longs to
bring you into a new freedom. Jesus died so you could live in freedom. The blood of Jesus purchased your freedom
from the bondage and slavery of sin. Sin
enslaves, sin dominates, and sin destroys.
When Jesus went to the cross He redeemed us with His own blood from the
slavery of sin. Colossians 1:13-14 says,
“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the
kingdom of the Son of His love,” In whom we have redemption through His
blood, the forgiveness of sins.”
There is power in
the blood of Jesus to bring freedom. The blood redeems, washes, cleanses,
liberates, and gives access. Hebrews
10:19 reveals, “Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by
the blood of Jesus.” Owen Walton writes, “A
revelation of the blood of Jesus and what it has done for you will enable you
to be free in your relationship with God, boldly coming to Him and enjoying His
presence without any sense of guilt, inferiority or condemnation!”[1]
God is calling
you into a new identity. The children of
Israel failed to enter into their promised inheritance because they saw the
giants, the walls, and the enemy as bigger than God’s promises. Listen to their words in Numbers 13:27-28,
“Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly
flows with milk and honey, and this is its
fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw
the descendants of Anak there.”
You will never
realize your promised inheritance with the identity of a slave. A study of the Scriptures will reveal you are
opposed by the world, the flesh, and the devil.
We overcome the world through the blood of Jesus. We put the flesh to death by faith, and you
overcome the enemy in the name of Jesus.
Colossians 2:15 says, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He
made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Jesus gave you this encouraging promise in
John 15:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have
overcome the world.”
