Galatians 6:7-8 – “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
Mock the Creator at your own risk. God is getting ready to bring His fire as He has in times past. In Genesis 19 Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire. Genesis 19:24 says, “So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.” In Leviticus 10 Nadab and Abihu experienced the fire of God’s judgment. Leviticus 10:1-3 says, “Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. And Moses said to Aaron, This is what the LORD spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’ So Aaron held his peace.”
Judgment begins at the house of God. I Peter 4:17 says, “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end be of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” Judgment begins with God’s people. His judgment is always redemptive. We serve a merciful Heavenly Father. Ephesians 2:4-5 says, “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).”
The Prophet Elijah called fire down from heaven in II Kings 1:9-10, “Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men. So he went up to him; and there he was, sitting on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him: ‘Man of God,’ the king has said, ‘Come down!’ So Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, ‘If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.’ And fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.’”
We serve a God who answers by fire. Hebrews 12:29 defines Him as a consuming or devouring fire. II Peter 3:10 says, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” God is getting ready to send the fire of His judgment.
