Entering into 2011

At the beginning of each year I like to spend time in prayer concerning the New Year. I believe that God has spoken prophetically about the following things that will begin and continue through 2011:

This will be a year to finish. God is going to bring completion to some things that He started in the last season. Things that have been left incomplete are going to come to completion.
  • Hebrews 12:2 – “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
  • Philippians 1:6 – “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
This will be a year to recover. Some things that have been lost or stolen in the past season are going to be recovered in the coming season of God. Some are going to clearly hear, “Pursue and recover all.”
  • 1 Samuel 30:8 - So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” 
And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
This will be a year to enter into your promises. For many this has already begun. Long standing promises that many have carried will see fulfillment in this coming year. For some they will see the beginning of what God has promised and it will continue for a period of time. This may start with something small and insignificant. Don’t miss what God is doing because it begins in a small way or seems like something insignificant. Watch the relationships that are on your path, because they may be kingdom connections that will propel you into your promise.
  • Zechariah 4:10 - For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.  They are the eyes of the LORD, which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.”
This will be a year of separation. The division between the spiritual and carnal church will be more pronounced and will continue to grow. For those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, they will see a release of supernatural power. This will bring about a separation. Some churches will separate while new ministries will be born and will thrive when they embrace the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Ministries that refuse to hear the voice of God and reject the move He desires to bring will die and only be a memory.
  • Acts 2, 5:1-11
  • Romans 8:1-17
This will be a year to prepare and be positioned for harvest. This will begin a three-year harvest season. The next three years will be a time of expansion and increase. The fields are white unto harvest. We must get into position and prepare to gather the harvest. We must pray for laborers to be released into the harvest field. The harvest will be both local and global. God is going to open up nations for ministry in the coming year. Mission teams will be sent to these nations for ministry.
  • John 4:34-38
  • Matthew 9:37-38
This will be a year of governmental crisis. Our government will face difficult decisions that will affect the lives of people. These decisions will cause civil unrest and violence in major cities. This will lead to more government intrusion and regulation. The economy will remain fragile for the first part of the year.
  • Proverbs 11:8 – “The righteous is delivered from trouble, and it comes to the wicked instead.”
  • Proverbs 11:10 – “When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.”
  • Proverbs 24:34 – “So shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.

The Shout of a King is Among Them

Numbers 23:21 - “He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The Lord his God  is  with him, And the shout of a King  is  among them.” In this passage of Scripture, the king of Moab had hired the prophet Balaam to speak a curse over the children of Israel.   He saw Israel as a threat to his kingdom.   Numbers 22:2-3 – “Now Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. And Moab was exceedingly afraid of the people because they were many, and Moab was sick with dread because of the children of Israel.” When the enemy sees the people of God rising up in faith, he becomes very concerned and moves to keep us from fulfilling our assignment.   We learn in Numbers, Balaam could only speak what the Lord gave him to speak.   Instead of a curse he speaks a blessing. They Turned Back in the Day of Battle

Psalms 78:9 – “ “The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.”             Ephraim was the younger of two sons of Joseph.   His first born was Manasseh.   It was Ephraim that received the blessing of Jacob.   The tribe of Ephraim became the largest of the ten northern tribes of Israel.   Many times the Bible used the name Ephraim to represent the whole nation of Israel.             In verse 9 they are armed and carrying bows.   They are dressed, equipped, and ready to battle.   Yet we learn that they turned back in the day of battle.   The Bible identifies this as sin.   To turn back in the day of battle was displeasing to God.               To be armed meant that they were equipped with armor, a sword, and a shield. ...
