The New Testament Church is transitioning into a new season. 2008 will be a New Season of New Beginnings. We are entering a time when many of the prophetic promises that God has made to us will be fulfilled. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 reads, "Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
The Bible teaches that we are being transformed into the image of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are transformed from glory to glory. What does it mean to be transformed from glory to glory? It means that God continually brings us into a new and deeper level in our relationship with Him. God longs to bring us into a new realm of glory. What is He doing in His church today? He is bringing us from grief to glory. He is bringing us out of the wilderness and into the Land of Promise. As believers we have an inheritance. Our inheritance is defined in Ephesians 1:3– “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ."
We are changed as we go from glory to glory, but what happens between those realms of glory? We go through transition. Currently we are transitioning from a season of completion into a season of new beginnings. We hear a great deal about going from glory to glory or mountain top to mountain top, but what about what happens in between those times? Between every mountain top there is a valley that we must pass through. We transition from one season to another.
What is a transition? Dr. Chuck Pierce in his book, "Possessing Your Inheritance," defines a transition "as crossing over to a new place or passing from one condition to another." Transition is passing through a narrow place. Many of us find ourselves in this place today. Why is transition necessary? Because God uses transition to bring us out the wilderness and moves us into the precious promises of God. Before we can move into our inheritance God will use the narrow place of transition to prepare us for our inheritance.
Transition is a very important time in our Christian journey. I have learned to take time to clearly hear the voice of God when I am in a time of transition. Let me encourage you to spend time listening carefully for direction when you find yourself in a time of transition in your life.
