  Romans 5:21 - “so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” We experience salvation through the grace of God.   Warren Wiersbe writes, “Grace means salvation completely apart from any merit or works on our part. Grace means that God does it all for Jesus’ sake! Our salvation is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:4-5 says, “But God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).”   It is the grace of God that qualifies us to spend eternity with Christ.   It is not our good works or deeds.   It is not religious activities or church membership.   The Apostle Pauls wrote in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should ...

  I John 1:7 – “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” In our sinful condition, we can not approach a holy God. Isaiah 59:2 says, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.” Jesus became our substitute when He went to the cross.   He suffered and died in our place. Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’).” He atoned for our sins.   Hebrews 10:11-14 says, “And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,   from that time waiting till His...

  Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”  One of the most popular shows on television is the Andy Griffith Show.   In Season 4, Episode 6, Gomer Pyle loses his job at the gas station and moves in with Andy and his family. In one scene Gomer is going to the market to check on a job for an experienced butcher. Andy asks him, “do you know anything about cutting meat?” Gomer replies, “You think they will ask me about that?” There are careers in our society that require certain qualifications. You cannot be a medical doctor without the proper education, training, and license. Teachers require a certain level of education and state certification.
