Rosh Hashanah Entering into a New Season Leviticus 23:1-2 There are seven major feasts that God established with Israel in the Old Testament.  Leviticus 23:1-2 reads, “And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.’” There are a total of seven feasts, but God divides the seven feasts into three major festival seasons. Every male was to present himself before the Lord three times a year in each festival group.  The Jewish male would travel to Jerusalem for Passover in the spring, Pentecost at the end of spring, and the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall.  The fall festival season consisted of Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets), The Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles. A Man Bound Set Free           In the fifth chapter of Mark we are introduced to a man possessed by demons.  Mark 5:2 reads, “And when he had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.”  This man in bondage was destined to meet the Lord and experience deliverance.         Verse 5 reveals that he cried out in desperation.  He was tormented and tortured in his mind. He cut himself with stones and sharp instruments.  He lived among the tombs in the place of death.  The town officials didn’t know how to handle him.  As a matter of fact in some translations he is called the Maniac of Gadara.      They bound him with chains and fetters.  A fetter is a shackle that is designed for the feet.  They had tried to control him by wrapping him in chains and binding his feet.     We learn in Mark 5:3-4, “Who...

Entering into Your Promised Possession Joshua 1:1-8     We are living in an interesting time.  We are in a time of economic uncertainty and things are changing around us rapidly in our nation and world.  Like the children of Israel you have a promised inheritance.  I believe it is time to leave the wilderness and enter into your promised inheritance.     In Numbers 13 we learn that Israel was poised to enter into the land that God had promised to children of Israel.  Moses sent twelve spies in to spy out the land.  Ten of the twelve spies came back with an evil report and two of the twelve returned with a good report.  Listen to the words of Caleb in Numbers 13:30, “Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, ‘Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.'"    The children of Israel believed the bad report and never entered into their promised inheritance.  I must ca...
